Shift RCS – Power Requirements & Warranty Policy
All Shift RCS high-performance digital servos are engineered to operate within specific voltage and amperage requirements. Proper power delivery is critical to the safe operation and longevity of the servo.
Power System Requirement
Shift RCS servos must be powered by a properly rated external BEC capable of supplying stable voltage and sufficient continuous and peak amperage. As stated in the product description, Shift RCS specifies the Castle BEC 2.0 for approved operation.
Use of Underpowered Power Systems
Use of an underpowered BEC, receiver-powered setup, or any power system unable to meet the servo’s current demand places the servo outside of its designed operating parameters.
When adequate amperage is not available:
Voltage drops under load
The motor enters partial stall conditions
Internal electrical resistance increases
Excess heat is generated
Internal electronic components and motor windings may be permanently damaged
This type of damage is the result of improper power supply, not a manufacturing defect.
Warranty Coverage
Failures caused by insufficient amperage, voltage sag, or improper power delivery are not covered under warranty and may void warranty eligibility.
Examples of non-warranty conditions include, but are not limited to:
Use of an underpowered or non-approved BEC
Receiver-powered servo operation
Evidence of thermal damage due to current starvation
Operation outside published voltage and amperage specifications
Evaluation & Customer Support
While these conditions fall outside standard warranty coverage, Shift RCS stands behind its customers. Customers may submit a warranty request through our website along with proof of purchase. Upon inspection, we will determine whether the servo can be repaired or whether alternative assistance may be offered at our discretion.
